Product Description

0.66kv Copper Current Transformer (CT) Mutual Inductor Current Sensor OEM ODM0.66kv Copper Current Transformer (CT) Mutual Inductor Current Sensor OEM ODM0.66kv Copper Current Transformer (CT) Mutual Inductor Current Sensor OEM ODMThe current transformer, commonly referred to as a CT, serves the essential function of converting a larger primary current value into a smaller secondary current value through a specific ratio. CT is utilized for various applications, including protection and measurement. For instance, a current transformer with a ratio of 400/5 is capable of transforming a primary current of 400A into a secondary current of 5A.

A current transformer consists of a closed core and winding. The primary winding has a limited number of turns and is connected in line with the current to be measured, allowing it to carry the entire current flowing through the line. Conversely, the secondary winding comprises a greater number of turns and is connected in series with measurement instrumentation and protection circuits. During operation, the secondary circuit remains closed, resulting in a very low impedance in the series coil of the measurement and protection circuits. Consequently, the operational condition of the current transformer is akin to that of a short circuit.

In the context of power generation, substations, transmission, distribution, and electricity utilization, the current levels can range from a few amps to tens of thousands of amps. To facilitate measurement, protection, and control, it is necessary to convert these currents into more manageable values. Additionally, direct measurement of high line voltages poses significant safety risks. Current transformers thus play a critical role in current conversion and electrical isolation.
